Give every voter the ability to rank candidates by preference — in primaries and general elections alike — so no vote is wasted and no race is decided by vote-splitting.

Require political spending groups operating in New York to disclose their funding sources, so voters know who is paying for the messages reaching them.

Push for clear, fair thresholds for candidate debate participation, set publicly rather than decided behind closed doors.

National Popular Vote Compact
Defend New York's participation in the compact and support its expansion to enough states to guarantee the presidency reflects the national popular vote.
Current Campaign
2026 — In MotionRanked-Choice Voting for New York
New York City has used ranked-choice voting in primaries and special elections since 2021. Our campaign is building the case — and the coalition — to bring it to state legislative races too, through Assembly bills A90 and A4351.
We're building a Long Island coalition alongside statewide partners like Ranked Choice Voting Albany and Unite NY, meeting directly with state legislators, and making the public case for a voting system where every voter's voice counts.

About Civestor Advocacy
StructureCivestor Advocacy is a New York not-for-profit corporation organized for social welfare purposes under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Unlike a charitable 501(c)(3), we're built specifically to lobby — to engage legislators directly, without limit, in pursuit of the civic reforms above.
The name draws on the Civestor framework — the idea that active citizenship is a form of investment in the health of a democracy. Where Civestor the book made the case, Civestor Advocacy is where that case gets carried into the Capitol.
Part of a Larger Effort
Civestor Advocacy is the lobbying affiliate of American Civic Power, a nonpartisan civic education organization. The two are separate legal entities with independent governance and finances.
